With over a decade of experience as a freelancer, I’m available for any translation or proofreading projects in Dutch, English, German, and French. I usually translate to Dutch, although of course other combinations are also possible. My main translation tool is Trados Studio, but I’m well versed in various other ones as well, such as memoQ, XTM and so on.

My name is Nicky Janssens. I’ve always been fascinated by language, so it only seemed natural to turn said fascination into a career. After finishing my secondary education, I first went to Provinciale Hogeschool Limburg (Hasselt) and got my Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Business Translation and Interpretation (English, French, and German). Next up was Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel (Brussels), where I got my Academic Master’s Degree in Translation (English and German). Shortly afterwards, I decided to set off on my own, and I've been freelancing ever since.

In my spare time, I like to focus on music, in all shapes and forms. The guitar will always be my first love, both acoustic and electric, but as time went by, I’ve expanded my home studio with a piano, drum kit, banjo, you name it. Other than music, I’m also deeply passionate about films, books, and video games.
