Who I am

My name is Nicky Janssens. My entire life I have loved languages, and so it seemed only logical I should pursue this passion. After finishing my secondary education I first went to Provinciale Hogeschool Limburg (Hasselt) and got a Professional Bachelor’s Degree in Business Translation and Interpretation (English, French, and German). After that I went to Hogeschool-Universiteit Brussel (Brussels) and got my Academic Master’s Degree in Translation (English and German).

These past years I have had the pleasure of working on a number of translation and proofreading projects, featuring many different kinds of texts as well as different combinations of Dutch, English, German, and French. Some examples include: websites, software and related manuals, catalogues, advertising texts, press releases, manuals for new products, technical product sheets, internal office documents, reports, meeting notes, etc.

What I do

You can get in touch with me for any translation or proofreading work in Dutch, English, German, and French. I generally translate into Dutch, but other language combinations are possible, as well. I also work with SDL Trados Studio 2014 and SDL Multiterm 2014, meaning I can finish your projects quickly and efficiently, and ensure a maximum content consistency throughout.
